Botox Anti-Wrinkling Injections (Botulinum toxin A) Sutton Coldfield
Botox is synonymous with the reduction of facial lines and wrinkles. Facial Lines are caused by the repeated use of the facial muscles used in facial expressions such as frowning and smiling. These can be more prominent in some people more than others. These lines (Dynamic lines), such as crow’s feet around the eyes, are brought on by the muscles and will disappear when the muscle relaxes. Over time these lines will become static in that they will be there even at rest and possibly become deeper, especially in the frown and forehead.
For some people, the frowning with deep furrows and lines spoil the serenity and beauty of the face. Results are usually a younger looking and smoother appearance from this treatment. One of the most popular in the world is Botulinum toxin A Botulinum toxin A is a purified protein used for cosmetic injections to block the nerve transmission to the muscle. This procedure inactivates the muscle contraction preventing the frowning and movement which causes the wrinkles. The static lines will also soften and be less pronounced.
The Botox procedure takes about 15 minutes and the red dots caused by the injections usually disappear in about an hour. The effect can start to be noticed after 2 or 3 days but will not be fully in place until 10 to 14 days. The effect will normally last from 3 to 5 months depending on the individual. A medical assessment prior to Botulinum toxin A injection is always carried out to ensure you are suitable for this treatment. You will be given an appointment to return after 2 weeks for a review.

AXILLARY HYPERHIDROSIS (EXCESSIVE SWEATING)
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a condition that can affect both men and women and occurs when the sweat glands produce more than the regular sweat needed to regulate body temperature. It can occur in the armpits the palms of the hands or over the whole body. Excessive sweating under the arms although not a disease can have negative effects.
Problems such as social integration, unpleasant smells or unsightly wet patches under arms can affect people. This can lead to feelings of low self-esteem and confidence when mixing with other people. It is usually more of a problem in the summer period during hot weather.
Botulinum toxin A treatment (Botox) is commonly used to treat axillary hyperhidrosis. Liebe Aesthetics carried out this treatment both for men and women. The toxin is injected with a very small thin needle into several points under the arm covering the entire area. Transmission of the nerve impulses to the sweat glands is blocked, leading to inhibition of sweating. The treatment takes up to 30 minutes and lasts for approximately 6 months or more. A medical assessment is carried out prior to treatment to establish suitability.

BOTOX SUTTON COLDFIELD FAQ
How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.
Will BOTOX® Cosmetic make me look like I’ve had work done?
Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX® Cosmetic feels like a pinch. Your specialist may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, your specialist may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
What were common side effects seen in clinical studies?
Three percent of patients experienced eyelid drooping in the frown lines studies and 1% of patients experienced eyelid swelling in the crow’s feet studies. Other possible side effects include: dry mouth; discomfort or pain at the injection site; tiredness; headache; neck pain; eye problems: double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight and dry eyes; and allergic reactions. These are not all of the possible serious side effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic. Please see the Important Safety Information including Boxed Warning and Medication Guide, and talk to your specialist.
How long does the treatment take?
I will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatments for you. The actual injection process takes about 10 minutes.
When will I see results?
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months.
How many injections will I receive?
For the crow’s feet area, your specialist will inject 3 areas of the orbicularis oculi, the muscle that frames the side of the eye. This will be repeated on the orbicularis oculi muscle on the other eye.
For the frown lines area, your specialist will administer 5 injections into muscles in your forehead—1 in the procerus muscle and 4 in the corrugator muscles.
How long is the recovery time after treatment?
After your treatment, you can resume your day. There is minimal downtime and your specialist may give you specific aftercare instructions.
Do men receive BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment?
Yes. BOTOX® Cosmetic has also been clinically evaluated in male patients. In clinical studies for moderate to severe frown lines, 17.5% of patients treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic were men. In the clinical studies for moderate to severe crow’s feet, male patients comprised approximately 10% of patients treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 10% of all cosmetic procedures performed in the United States in 2014 were on men—that is more than 1 million cosmetic procedures. The number of cosmetic procedures for men increased by 273% from 1997 to 2014.
